When you're on backpacking, it also means everything goes on budget.
But going on budget doesn't equates to no fun :)
I have no idea where to start, but i'll just spam the photos.
A total of 12 days with love. Thanks to him, he did many research and thus everything went on smoothly.
The very first day, 19th March - Monday!
Flight was at 1010hrs in the morning, therefore having to wake up early and make our way down to the airport.
Arrived at KL LCCT during noon, retrieved backpack, bought tickets to head to KL sentral.
Love and I were so impressed by these 2 tokens.
They are tokens for us to take the monorail or rather, any train service provided. These tokens, you do not slot them in, instead you tap them! Just like any cards! How cool is this?!
The monorail! This is the only one that is called monorail, although there are so many more other lines, but the rest have different names.
Finally, after rounds of walking and turning, we finally found our accommodation - The Nest @ Angkongsa! The place is easily accessible to places like Sungei Wang, Pavilion and such! It's all within walking distances. Per night is S$37 for both!
The room is not big, but it's sufficient as it is really comfortable, just like our house back in Sg.
Dinner at Toilet Concept Restaurant that we chanced by at Sungei Wang.
Had to tried this because you can't find this in Sg! And it was really yummy!
Street food which basically sells seafood, a whole lot of stores there.
The entrance of our accommodation.
The reception area :) it really have the homely feel.
Day 2, 20th March - Tuesday
Berjaya Times Square!
It was insanely huge and there's a mini theme park in it. But as for shopping, no doubt there's a lot of shops, but quite repetitive.
Then, to the Pavilion whereby it's all the expensive and branded goods there.
Kenanga Wholesale City is comparable to Sungei Wang. The difference are that, this is newly opened, not many stores are open and the products are mainly sold in bulks.
Dinner~ Claypot rice for the both of us.
This is not the monorail, this is the red line, which I don't know what is it called.
Forgotten what this place is, Chinatown I guess.
Petaling Street, it's totally like bugis street! Bargain is like a woohoo there.
Love purposely brought me to the Petronas towers at night. Because the lighting are nicer and it's really gigantic!
Day 3, 21st March - Wednesday
Morning brunch at nearby coffeeshop
How about some sweet treats :)
Oh, when we were there, F1 was around the corner, on the 23rd to 25th if i've not mistaken.
Domino's Pizza for tea break. Inititally wanted to go to KL towers, we were close, but not close enough. It's on the hill top!
Arcade coins, yes we went to kill some time.
Our accommodation's kitchen, free to use for all lodgers!
Balcony for smokers.
The reception area
Look how cosy this boy is, with his milo :)
Time's up, we are ready to leave for our midnight train.
It's a cabin, full of bunk beds, about 40 of them. It fits an average nicely, but taller ones might have to cramp for abit.
I slept the top, while love took the bottom. About 6hrs ride from KL to Butterworth.
Day 4, 22nd March - Thursday
This is early in the morning when we reached Butterworth, having to take a ferry to cross over to Penang, Georgetown. Quite surprised as there are many commuters that took it to head to work. Imagine doing this everyday, it's damn tiring! It's 6.46am.
My Penang's accommodation location! :)
Red Inn Penang. Can't exactly remember the rates though, but nothing exceeds S$50 for the both of us.
Opposite of us is a Primary school.
They have a living room for all lodgers. Each person is entitled to rent DVDs to watch, there are free magazines there to read as well.
We reached our accommodation early, and our room wasn't ready, therefore we have to wait till 12noon for them to check out. It's only 8.30am. So, breakfast at a small shophouse, above is where the owner stays.
Love and I went to explore and walk around to kill time :) Basically walked around the area close to us. Chance by their museum and went in to take a look
A street where people set up their stalls here. Selling food and non food items.
A row of trishaws
This is a famous actor's place, but i can't remember. Can't go in as you need to pay, but there are tourists that stays here.
Back to our accommodation. Free drinks on self service
Our room!
Our toilet above is an opaque glass, it made use of sunlight to lid up the place.
Walked over to Prangin Mall. Surprised to say, it feels like as though i'm not in a rural area, but a city when you're in it.
Lunch - their style of Jajiangmian
Love's curry chicken.
Made our way to Penang Times Square.
To my disappointment, it's a shopping mall, but a minimal of shops are opened. Basically not many tenants there.
We had our dinner near our place, it was 2 street walks away. To my astonishment, it's damn crowded! It's so famous here! There are plenty of food stalls here, there's a stage as well. And there will be people performing, singing and such.
This chicken rice, is damn tasty, i swear!
Love's childhood favourite, fried ice cream.
Day 5, 23rd March - Friday
Made our way to take our ferry to Langkawi at 0830hrs :)
It was a smooth journey that took 3 hours in the ferry. This is our accommodation. Different from the last time as we wanted a cheaper room, but it's still the same Melati Tanjung! :) S$31 per night for both!
Dinner at some self claimed Hong Kong restaurant, the food sucks big time. No joke.
Day 6, 24th March - Saturday
Spent our day at the beach and nuaing :) hahaha!
We caught the every minute and second as the sun makes it's way down and retire for the day.
Dinner was splendid at De' Bayleaf! It was located underneath our rooms. Hahaha! :) But great food i must say.
Pork chop with black pepper!
Love's pizza. hahaha.
Day 7, 25th March - Sunday
It's our last day in Langkawi!
Brunch at the same place cause both of us missed the pizza!
Cream of mushroom, the only one that I am able to sallow.
My favourite drink, lime juice! Theirs was made superb.
Chef's specialty pizza!
Love's favourite drink, teh ice (milk tea)
Walked over to Bubu's for tea break! One last time having this awesome beef special ramly burger.
Thailand's immigration card.
Dinner! Zhi Char, sort of.
Day 8, 26th March - Monday
Making our way to Satun by ferry from Langkawi terminal.
We bought bread for our journey :)
Satun! And onward to the bus terminal to take bus to Phuket
8hrs coach ride to Phuket, luckily there's a toilet in the coach.
The weather wasn't fantasic as the curtain folds, it rained. And love spotted this while I took it down. A rainbow in Thailand!
From Phuket city, we took a taxi to our accommodation at Karon Beach. In Phuket, Patong beach is the most happening, while Karon beach is the sister, which means to say, it's less happening as compared to Patong.
Karon Cafe Inn!
Don't be deceived by it's name. The food they sell are the best in Karon, check out Tripadvisor, they've gotten plenty of reviews from customers. & it is located at one of the happening street.
After checking in, our room! It was so grand that i'm loss for words.
It was 899Baht per night. 899/24 = $37.50 per night! Less than $40!
Famished, we quickly unloaded our backpacks and head for a quick dinner nearby. It's about 10.20pm (reminder, thailand is an hour behind Sg!)
Thai style spaghetti!
Love's thai green curry!
Day 9, 27th March - Tuesday
The day street is very different from the night.
Breakfast opposite the beach.
Karon beach! Pretty? :)
Tuk Tuk!
Fish spa! 10 minutes for 100Baht! The fishes are really bigger as compared to Langkawi's
Elephant restaurant. It's a family restaurant! I love the food there and it's reasonable.
How can I resist Tom Yum when I'm in Thailand! #tomyummeal1
Beef stir fried with onions.
This cute little pocket is how they kept their culinary. So adorable.
We went to the night market, it starts at 3pm till about 12 midnight.
Tenants set up their tents there and clears everything up when time's up, and the place resumes back to normal, like it all didnt happened before.
Fanta drink :) & Dinner at a street restaurant.
Pork fried with curry powder.
Morning glory = Kangkong! But not spicy at all.
Crepes sold there! This is nutella crepe!
Happy boy with his crepe. Haha.
Day 10, 28th March - Wednesday
Brunch at a small stall that is crowded every time!
Tadah! Tom yum again! #tomyummeal2
Walked over to Kata, the distance is not short at all.
It's epic when it comes to here. We painstakingly walked all the way to Kata, didn't stayed there for long, its because both of us needed to use the toilet badly. Therefore took a tuktuk back to our room. Hahaha.
Head out again after that.
This time, took the tuk tuk to Patong Beach!
Patong beach have a lot more to see as well as buy as they have shopping malls there!
He's posing for me :)
Downpour all of a sudden while we were walking by the streets.
Then we decided to have street food while waiting for the rain to cease.
The night falls and rain stops.
Street food again!
This man here makes the sushis on the spot
Day 11, 29th March - Thursday
We were really upset and heavy-hearted about leaving tmr and it's the last night here.
Took less than 10 photos on this day. We settled ourselves at the beach the whole day.
Chicken Spaghetti for brunch!
Elephant restaurant's pizza for dinner.
I had tom yum again! #tomyummeal3 :)
I can only say the waves at Karon beach is like a woohoo. It can get really high, big and strong! It's the ultimate of fun, but it's kinda dangerous
Day 12, last day, 30th March - Friday
Had to be back on this date is because it's my dad's birthday.
Burger King for breakfast at Phuket International Airport before coming back home.
This marks the end of my 12 days adventure.
Each of us spent about $600+ on everything, accommodation, transport and miscellaneous (shopping and stuff like that)!
Love and I went to many different places, our legs did us proud, really. We travel to different places, using all different means of transport, i'm really proud of us.
More memories created for the both of us, and there's more to come.
More adventure please!:)
Overall, thank you love for planning this trip and doing a whole load of research that made things easier.
12 days with you was awesome, really fun and enjoyable :)
xoxo
It took me 2hours to do up this post. But it's worth for memory purposes.
